Christmas has almost arrived here at El Poder de Dios (The Power of God), which is what the family house is known by. Got that name many, many years ago when there was a sign above it, from the previous owner, that said those words. The wooden sign eventually disappeared but the name stuck. Here is what the front of the house looks like now by day and night–somewhat overdone, yet magical in the evening, don’t you think?
It’s tradition to paint the exterior every year at this time, and in El Poder de Dios, they LOVE to decorate. I think we’re the most decorated house on the block. Everyone here chipped in for the paint. There are five extended families living here, all related to the matriarchs–Roberto’s mother and aunt.
