Back on the farm as of Tuesday. Yuca, ahuyama, and melons are growing beautifully.
Ahuyama is in the squash family, looks bumpy and round, and has large yellow flowers that bloom in the morning and close as the heat of the day rises.
Whether we bring mom back to the States when her visa expires is a moot point now as she’s too weak to travel. She barely can communicate at all, most times remaining unresponsive, eating and drinking little. I feel sad to see her lingering on so, almost to the other side, knocking on the door, but not gaining entrance yet. We will be here waiting and tending to her, making her last moments comfortable.
