Through the Rabbit Hole: One Family’s Bipolar Success Story is Maya Lazarus’s first full-length memoir. She said it was “called to be written” to offer hope to parents who struggle with their children’s mental health issues and don’t know what to do. Before her writing career, Maya Lazarus enjoyed teaching English for 22 years to non-native speakers in Colombia, Costa Rica, and upstate New York to children and adults. When she wanted to change careers, she became a development editor of educational materials. Now retired, she enjoys journal writing, flash fiction/non-fiction, and haiku poetry. Several short pieces and poems have been published in StoryCircle journals (storycircle.org) as well as a flash fiction piece in www.flashfictionmagazine.com.
Maya moved to central Texas three years ago from the East Coast, and lives on five acres with her husband and four dogs.
